Homeschooling is a long, fun, interesting, and sometimes scary journey

Hi friends who read this– I made this site so you can see my homeschool journey up to this point, and to encourage you to try educating your kids at home. It isn’t easy, but it sure is fun. I’ve made some mistakes, but I’ve also learned a lot. My kids are safe and well, and they learn every day. It was scary for me when I took my daughter out of first grade in the highly rated school she was attending, even though she was struggling to read and walked to school like she was carrying a bag of rocks on her back every morning. When I pulled her out, I was so worried that I made the wrong choice, that I wouldn’t be able to teach her as well as the public school, and that she would not be “socialized” and might have a hard time making friends and meeting people when she grows up.

My daughter is in the fifth grade now, and I have two others that I am homeschooling also. While I would never go back, I now face a number of challenges and choices about what curriculum I should use, which classes I should sign my kids up for, which cooperative groups work best for me, and what to make for breakfast. I’ve discovered a bunch of cool tools to help me on my journey, and I will share what I learn with the world. Hope you like it!
